The Factory Shop Assistant plays a key role in maintaining a well-organised sales floor, ensuring that stock is managed effectively, customers` needs are attended to, and health and safety procedures are followed. The assistant supports daily sales operations and general housekeeping tasks to ensure the factory shop runs effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (National Certificate)
- At least 2 years of relevant retail experience
- Strong communication and timekeeping skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and order on the sales floor (good housekeeping)
- Receive and check all stock delivered from dispatch
- Operate the POS system in the absence of the shopkeeper
- Pack stock in the holding room
- Submit dispatch-related paperwork daily to the admin department
- Adhere to proper health and safety procedures
- Monitor and control shop equipment (e.g., shop trolleys)
- Ensure correct usage of PPE
- Promote safety in and around the factory shop and workshop areas
- Perform additional adhoc tasks as assigned
