The municipality is recruiting for two separate programmes:
- EPWP General Workers (12 Months) – 329 Positions
These programmes are designed to provide temporary employment, practical work experience, workplace exposure, and skills development opportunities for unemployed community members, especially young people, women, and persons with disabilities.
- Daily Rate: R150 per day
- Age Requirement: 18 to 35 years
Preference Targets:
- 60% Women
- 55% Youth
- 2% Persons with Disabilities
The municipality is recruiting 329 General Workers under the Directorate of Economic Development Planning and Environment (EDPE).
- Duration: 12 Months
- Daily Rate: R150 per day
- Work Stations: Successful applicants may be placed at any of the municipality’s 11 service centres.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Duties and Responsibilities
General Workers will assist with various community improvement and environmental maintenance activities, including:
- Street cleaning
- Litter collection
- Sweeping streets and paved areas
- Illegal dumping site cleaning
- Removal of skip bin waste
- Cleaning community halls
- Gardening and landscaping activities
- Grass cutting within municipal facilities
- Related environmental maintenance duties
These responsibilities play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive public spaces for residents.
