Under broad instructions to provide basic horticultural environmental-related maintenance and contraction of landscape as instructed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 and six months’ relevant horticultural experience.
- Ability to operate horticultural machinery such as a brush cutter and lawnmowers etc.
Primary Duties:
- Weeding of sites and areas.
- Asset management.
- Planting
- Weeding, watering division of plants, pruning, using hand tools,
- Application of fertilisers and chemicals as per instruction,
- Soil preparation,
- Load and unload
- Packing and stacking.
- Counting of stock.
- Apply basic plant identification correctly.
- Apply basic weed and alien identification correctly.
- Identification of indigenous vs exotic plants.
- Apply water wise principles.
- Assist with decorations.
- Assist with floral display.
- Monitor for damage and theft.
- Implement hard landscape such as stepping stones, gabions, stone packing, erecting poles, erecting water feature, retaining walls and cement mixing.
- SHE reps meeting attendance.
