Life Healthcare Carstenview Porter
A vacancy exists for a Porter, based at Life Carstenview, reporting to the Clinic Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for transferring patients between various departments within the hospital.
Critical Outputs:
- Assists and transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, patient vehicle to and from various destinations within hospital e.g. wards, treatment areas, operating theatre.
- Porters’ patients requiring assistance on discharge from nursing unit or treatment area to hospital exit/vehicle.
- Movement of cylinders of gas within the hospital.
- Check trolleys for cleanliness and whether in need of repairs (maintain good working conditions)
- Deliver correspondence to doctor’s rooms as and when required.
- Ensure quality patient care and customer satisfaction according to Life Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Maintaining excellent patient and customer care in accordance with Life Healthcare Standards.
- Performing general administrative and other related duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Private healthcare experience.
- Computer proficiency.
- Experience in a Mental Health Facility and Knowledge of Mental Health Act.
- Ability to work shifts according to the operational requirements of the hospital.
- Strong customer orientation and organizational skills
- Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
