Triton Academy is looking for motivated and committed individuals to join their 12-month National Certificate: Freight Handling Learnership, aimed at empowering unemployed South African youth through structured training and hands-on experience in the logistics industry.

 

Key Performance Areas (Training Activities):

  • Loading and offloading goods from vehicles
  • Preparing a vehicle for trips
  • Receiving, dispatching, and handling freight documentation
  • Performing ancillary warehouse and transport-related duties
  • Delivery and collection of goods and stock
  • General housekeeping and maintaining clean workspaces
  • Picking and packing stock accurately
  • Receiving incoming stock and verifying against documentation
  • Ensuring the correct stacking and securing of goods for safe transport

Learning & Development:

  • Structured theoretical training aligned with unit standards
  • Workplace practical experience and mentorship
  • Assessment preparation for final external verification

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Aged between 23 and 35 years
  • Matric (Grade 12) / TVET N3 / NQF Level 3
  • Minimum 40% pass in English and Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy
  • Not currently employed or studying
  • Must reside in one of the specified areas within Port Elizabeth
  • Must be medically fit
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Numerically literate
  • Must be able to work shifts and weekends
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must have own reliable transport
  • Computer Literacy (Advantageous)
  • Previous work experience in logistics/warehouse (Advantageous)
