Job Advert Summary:
- Ensure the execution of requirements pertaining to Emergency Services equipment in accordance with SAQCC and NFPA requirements and set guidelines. Use of various ES&S planning and inspection tools in ensuring that protection systems are good for purpose.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Science)
- Fire Fighter 1&2 (NFPA 1001)
- Hazardous Materials for First Responders – Awareness Level (NFPA 472)
- Hazardous Materials for First Responders – Operational Level (NFPA 472)
- Computer Literate – sound knowledge of Power Point, Excel, Word and
- BAA or First Aid Level 3.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in response to and deal with all types of emergencies
- Assist with fire protection duties
- Operate within Emergency Response Process & Secure Assets Process.
- Correct use and application of systems ensuring the upkeep of fire prevention and protection equipment.
- Perform work in accordance with the written operating discipline procedures, use pre task analysis; Safe work permitting and SWIFT processes where procedures do not exist.
- Understand requirements of Safe Work Permitting and associated tools to perform standby duties where required.
- Perform tasks according to operating discipline, checklists and electronic tools.
- Assist with testing of fire protection systems in accordance with requirements.
- Knowledge and support of the E/R Incident Command process.
- Has a good current technical knowledge of emergency response resources.
- Be familiar and understand Crisis Response Plan & Safripol Emergency Procedures.
- Understand their capabilities based on their competencies and do duties that align accordingly to what they are competent in.
- Assist with security duties during shifts or when required.
